Blogging With Nothing To Say.

1. Yes, that's right. I've got nothing. My life is not all that exciting. I suppose that's a good thing. The weather has gotten quite cold here. It's killing my sinuses - my head feels like it could pop off at any second.

2. With the change in weather come some invariable changes that happen this time every year: the need for more moisturizing EVERYTHING(!) because my skin has become so dry it's sick. Currently, I am obsessed with my L'Occitane Amande Oil shower gel (order it at Sephora. I PROMISE that it is worth the $18 price tag!! And -- it smells like heaven!), My malibu hemp moisturizer (yes, it's less that $4 at Wal-Mart. And it smells like suntan oil.) and my Aaveeno medicated lip balm. Yep. Everything's turbo-strength.

3. Lil' Beastie is obsessed with moisturizer. So much so that he hears me get it out of the cupboard in the bathroom and lurks in the doorway while I am getting dressed. As soon as I put any lotion on my legs, he's right here, trying to lick it all off (do I need to say it? Okay, I will: Eww!). It's now to the point where I have to moisturize as fast as possible and then immediately hop into my pants in the morning - the days of letting the lotion sink in are o-v-e-r. And if you're wondering, I have to keep the door open when I'm getting ready - hubby's already left for work, so it's just me & the pup. I need to be able to hear him to make sure he's not getting into something he shouldn't be. Normally he just sleeps on the couch, but occasionally, he is roaming around the house and trying to climb on the coffee table or something. And if I close the door, he then wakes up and proceeds to scratch on it, because he can't stand not being able to be where I am. (Yes, he really is my dog.)

4. Also with the changing weather, comes an uncontrollable need for carbohydrates. Seriously. I'm not going to hibernate (as much as I'd like to!). I do not need to build up fat reserves for the coming winter. And yet, I crave macaroni and cheese. Relentlessly. And mashed potatoes. With butter. Or both. When's lunch?

5. For those who participated in our first-ever blogby CD swap, I just want you to know I'm gearing up for the next CD - I've started a running list of workable tracks - I could easily construct a box set. Did you guys like the CD's I sent ya?

6. I have a new favorite nail polish color - it's by OPI (who, incidentally, has the BEST. COLOR NAMES. EVER.) and it's called Marquis d'Mauve. It's a lovely copper-y, mauve-y sort of color. Not very dark, but very nice for fall, and looks nice with everything. It's moved up there on the list with my favorite OPI shade - I'm Not Really A Waitress - which is the best red ever, as far as I'm concerned.

7. Made the best pork roast a couple weeks ago in the crock pot. If anyone's interested: start with a 3# or larger pork roast (can be bone-in or boneless), add 2 cans of condensed cream of chicken soup (either the regular or the low salt/low fat, which is my preference), 4 Tablespoons of Worchestershire sauce, and a pkg. of onion soup mix. It will look thick in the crock pot even when you mix it, but when the roast sweats a little, it thins the gravy. Still, if you really want it thinner, add a little water (no more than 1/2 can!). Seriously - stir it all up, plop in your roast, put that bad boy on low and leave it alone all day. It is HEAVEN! And yes, it really is that easy How long does it take you to open two cans? It is seriously about a 5 minute prep. I recommend mashed potatoes with it (there I go with my carbs again!) My SIL shared that recipe with me, and it's just awesome.

8. I cannot WAIT for election day to finally be over. I'm not a very political person. I'm a registered democrat, but I believe in voting for the best candidate. Truthfully, I don't like politicians. I really don't. And with that said, I really hate these ad's that are bombarding my tv. I feel like the politicians in general are not allowing my to vote for the most highly qualified candidate. Instead, I'm picking the king of the pigs. I've got THIS guy telling me THAT guy's a louse, a criminal or just an all-around sleaze and then twenty seconds later, THAT guy's on tv telling me THIS guy's a louse, criminal, JERK and all-around sleaze. Please. Can't we just go back to the days of shaking hands, kissing babies and telling me what you are going to TRY to accomplish?

9. And what's funnier still is the story on the Today show about the "conspiracy theory" that gas prices are somehow tied into the upcoming election. Of course they are! Please. You're going to tell me that our republican president with the oil ties, hasn't called on his buddies to increase production to increase supply and lower prices right before the election - an election where the GOP party is struggling? Well, you can. I won't believe it. What's funny is about two weeks ago, I heard a quickie blurb (like, four seconds!) stating that OPEC will soon be cutting back production, and gas prices will likely increase. Funny. That will probably hit sometime AFTER the elections. What do you think?

I liked the cds. (Thought I'd told you that, but I can't remember. Right now I can't remember anything--brain fried).
I too can't wait for the election to be finished. UGH! Except for the fact that then our gas prices will go up. Bleagh.

I *heart* my cd's. I've already planned out the next one. Can't wait to actually get down to doing them! And I promise to send you guys the mp3 to wav (so you can play it on any stereo) info soon! It's just been insane lately!

As for moisturizing - I need to invest in some. I have major issues because even the pimple preventing stuff (Proactive) causes me to break out but my skin is SOOO dry! I need to go shopping this weekend. One think I SWEAR by is my Burt's Bees lip balm. AWESOMENESS!
